Why do kids sign up for Facebook with a fake age?
Question by Hepburn: Why do kids sign up for Facebook with a fake age?
Why do you think that kids sign up for Facebook if they’re under 13 with a fake age? Is it just to seem more mature or something?
Personally, I think Facebook is too mature for anyone younger than 13.
(Also, if you know of someone that has been using a fake age to sign up, which is against the COPPA law, how can you report it?)

there is currently no way to report them, but facebook has declared they are “working on a sulution”. perhaps they want to look older then they are because they are talking in a community of older people so they want to fit in?

why wouldn’t they lie? if facebook is the cool thing that everyone is doing, it does not at all surprise me that people lie about it. it has no bearing on people old enough so it really isn’t a big concern

You’re to mature for Facebook.
You can’t report them.
It’s their choice, so butt out.
Let their parents handle this.
Let the kids have their fun.
You party pooper.
