Georgia Virtual High School site has a problem with Internet Explorer?

I am a student in Georgia Virtual High School. It seems Internet Explorer has a problem with me logging in. I try to log in with my correct user and password and the page just refreshes. I e-mailed the help desk and they told me to keep pop-up blocker unchecked and install all updates for IE 7.0 or download Firefox. I downloaded Firefox temporarily to do my classwork, but I really dislike Firefox, it is too big a filesize for my small amount of memory that does the same thing as IE. What can I do to prevent further log-in problems with IE at this site? What are links to updates that I need to fix the problem? Do I need to have anything else special checked? Or should I just rollback and reinstall?

Looking at the link you’ve provided, Georgia Virtual High uses Desire2Learn as their web-based application. Desire2Learn has known issues with IE7 and IE6 or Firefox should be used instead.
